Tommie Jackson has been involved with Broke Thespian’s since their initial season in 2019. He has served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and now as President of BTTC. Tommie also serves as the Project Manager and Grant Writer for the annual summer musical. He’s directed, performed in and worked tech for countless BTTC productions. In addition to his work with BTTC, he is the theatre director at San Marcos High School and a singer/songwriter/producer.
Adrian Garcia Velásquez is a visual artist born and raised in San Marcos. He is an ACC alumni with a background in Digital Marketing and has dedicated 8 years to the field of visual media having done Audio-Visual and Technical Theatre. Adrian is committed to expanding his technical and administrative expertise while actively contributing to the growth of community theater in his hometown. Along the way, he has had the privilege of meeting inspiring individuals and is proud to continue creating art alongside such a talented team.
Mitchell Oden (they/them) is a theatre educator, the director at Miller Middle School here in San Marcos CISD, performer, and designer based in San Marcos, Texas, with a deep commitment to building sustainable, artist-centered organizations. They bring years of experience in nonprofit leadership and financial stewardship, including helping establish Broke Thespians and serving as Vice President, and President roles within the organization. As Treasurer, Mitchell blends practical fiscal oversight with a genuine understanding of what artists and educators need to thrive, ensuring resources are handled responsibly in service of creative work.
Donielle is a current 2nd grade teacher for Del Valle ISD and a Texas State University alumni! They started their journey with Broke Thespians Theatre Company back when it was just founded, in 2019. They have carried out various roles throughout the years for the company, including stage managing, acting, volunteering, an active board member, and now as Treasurer! They are very excited to continue working with an organization that brings diversity, inclusion, and acceptance to the arts and the wonderful San Marcos community!!
Ash Knutson is a Training Manager at OneSupport with a lifelong passion for the performing arts. A San Marcos resident for over 15 years, she studied at UTSA and Texas State University. Ash possesses a diverse background in both performance and technical production, including recent work in the SFX Department for Echo (post-production) and as a film Production Coordinator for Blood Hollow (pre-production) with VS Filmworks. Since joining Broke Thespians in 2022, she has served as an actor, technical advisor, Front of House Manager, Board Member At Large, and Parliamentarian. She is thrilled to bring her administrative and creative expertise to the board to help live theatre thrive in San Marcos.
