We open internship applications each semester for Texas State University undergraduates, including the summer session. Interns work on a variety of projects, strengthening their skills in arts administration, community outreach, and the performing arts.

Interns may apply for one of the following:
Fundraising
Internship Overview: The Fundraising Intern will assist the fundraising team in planning, executing, and enhancing fundraising initiatives to support the theatre's mission and programming. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit development, event planning, donor relations, and grant writing within the arts sector. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the arts, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and be eager to learn about nonprofit fundraising strategies. This intern reports directly to the Treasurer.
Marketing
Internship Overview: The Marketing Intern will assist the marketing team in promoting the theatre’s performances, events, and community initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience in the key areas of theatre marketing, including social media management, content creation, event promotion, audience engagement, and public relations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the arts, creative in their approach to digital marketing, and eager to develop a wide range of marketing skills in a nonprofit arts setting. This intern reports directly to the Historian.
Public Programming
Internship Overview: The Public Programming Intern will assist the Public Programming team in developing, coordinating, and implementing a variety of community-focused programs and events. This internship offers hands-on experience in arts education, audience engagement, and public programming within a nonprofit theatre setting. The ideal candidate will have an interest in community engagement, theatre education, and helping create inclusive experiences that connect diverse audiences to the arts. This includes developing our New Works Series and our workshops. This intern reports directly to the Public Programs Manager.
All interns, regardless of area of focus, gain experience in community engagement, non-profit leadership, development, event planning, and general administration.
TIME COMMITMENT
Students should expect to commit 60-80 hours over the span of their semester. This includes monthly meetings with their committees, our monthly board meetings, working performances, attending select rehearsals, and their administrative duties. Some evening and weekend availability may be required, especially during event times.
