ABOUT THE SHOW:

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears.

"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek. Irreverently fun for the whole family, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.

Actors of any race, sexual orientation, gender presentation, ability, and age are encouraged to audition.

AUDITION INFORMATION:

Audition Date: Friday, March 7th 6:30pm-10pm (by appointment)
Location: The San Marcos VFW (1701 Hunter Rd, San Marcos, TX 78666)

1. Fill out the audition form! (Includes a section to select your audition time slot). FORM

2. Prepare a 60 second cut song. Tracks are preferred but not required. Acapella is acceptable as there will be no accompaniment. 

3. DAY OF: Have your music on a phone/tablet to connect to our speaker. Auditions will also consist of movement and cold reads, so please dress comfortably.

Video auditions are accepted! Please email video auditions to tommie@brokethespians.org. Videos consist of your song selection. Videos are due March 6th at 11:59pm. Those who submit video auditions must attend callbacks in person, if invited.

Shrek the Musical will run July 11th-12th, 18th-20th, 25th-26th, 6pm-11pm at the outdoor Plaza Park Stage in San Marcos TX.
