Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. It is not necessary to prepare anything, but the audition sides are linked in the form for your perusal.
Video Auditions are accepted and will consist of a 1-minute dramatic monologue of your choice (or you can use one of the two provided in the sides). Please email videos to emily@brokethespianstheatrecompany.org by Thursday, July 23rd at 11:59 PM. Those who submit videos may be called back, where in-person attendance is mandatory.
Auditions open to actors aged 15+. Note: If under 18, a parent or guardian must attend auditions/callbacks to sign a release form.
Performances are scheduled for October 9–11 & 16–18, Fri/Sat evenings and Sun matinees. All rehearsals and performances are at the VFW in San Marcos, TX.
Rhoda Penmark – (Fem-Presenting) Child of Kenneth and Christine Penmark. Old-fashioned, delightful, punctual, and sinister.
Col. Kenneth Penmark – (Masc-Presenting) Rhoda's Father. A military officer and a dedicated family man.
Christine Penmark – (Fem-Presenting) Rhoda's Mother. A gentle housewife who deeply loves her family.
Monica Breedlove – (Fem-Presenting) The nosy neighbor who owns the apartment house. A fast talker and otherworldly thinker.
Emery Wages – (Masc-Presenting) Monica's brother. Friendly, but can't quite keep up with his sister.
Leroy – (Masc-Presenting) The apartment house janitor. Misunderstood, immature, and constantly antagonizes Rhoda.
Miss Fern – (Fem-Presenting) Headmistress of the Fern School. Timid and wary.
Reginald Tasker – (Masc-Presenting) A detective story writer and crime expert.
Mrs. Daigle – (Fem-Presenting) Mother of Claude. In her deep sadness, she has turned to alcohol.
Mr. Daigle – (Masc-Presenting) Father of Claude. In his sadness, he focuses on helping his wife.
Richard Bravo – (Masc-Presenting) Father of Christine. A past reporter and author who holds deep secrets.
